INKIE

Inkie is one of the most prominent figures in the British graffiti art scene. He began his journey in 1983 as a member of the Crime Incorporated Crew (CIC), working alongside notable names like Felix and Joe Braun. Inkie’s influence on Bristol's vibrant graffiti culture is undeniable, having collaborated with legendary artists such as Banksy, 3D, and Nick Walker.

In 1989, Inkie became a central figure in “Operation Anderson,” the UK’s largest graffiti bust, where he was among the leading artists arrested. However, this only fueled his dedication to street art. In 1998, he co-organised the iconic “Walls on Fire” event with Banksy, which showcased the energy of Bristol’s urban art scene.

Inkie’s artistic style is a unique blend of graffiti and figurative imagery, inspired by Art Nouveau, William Morris, Alphonse Mucha, Islamic geometry, and Mayan architecture. His intricate lines, bold colors, and fusion of classical and contemporary influences make his work instantly recognisable.

Beyond graffiti, Inkie has worked in the video game industry as head of creative design at Sega, contributing to titles like Jet Set Radio. He has also curated numerous events, including the “Urban in Ibiza” festival and Bristol’s “See No Evil” project, which transformed Nelson Street into Europe’s largest outdoor art gallery.
