To mark the release of Talking Out of My Art, an autobiographical book by renowned British Street Artist Mau Mau, BSMT Gallery will be hosting a book launch and immersive experience showcasing Mau Mau's most iconic works and bringing these themes to life. Known for his unapologetic humor and incisive commentary on culture, politics, and the environment, Mau Mau’s latest book captures his journey from Devon’s coastlines to the international Street Art stage.
Join us for this authentic and nostalgic event on November 28 from 6-9pm, along with an Artist Talk and Q&A on Saturday 30th at 2pm.

About the Book Launch: Talking Out of My Art

The centerpiece of the evening, Talking Out of My Art is a photographic chronicle that delves into Mau Mau’s world, blending sharp wit and activism. Tracing his development from Devon surf culture to the streets of London and beyond, readers will gain a rare behind-the-scenes look at Mau Mau’s creative process along with reflections on the key moments and themes that have shaped his career. Included in the book are recounts of personal memories and photographs making this an essential for collectors and art enthusiasts eager to explore the trajectory of one of Britain’s most original voices in street art.

The Exhibition

Alongside the book launch, BSMT will host an immersive exhibition including a sound system and limited selection of Mau Mau’s most sought after and provocative works as well as a mini series of canvases which examines the themes of environmentalism, corporate greed, and social justice. Mau Mau’s work, whether painted on walls, surfboards, or billboards, is an engaging dialogue with audiences across the globe, inviting us to see the things from a different perspective.
