FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does bespoke picture framing cost at BSMT?
Prices depend on the size, moulding, glass, and mount chosen. As a guide, custom framing for a standard A3 print starts from approximately £80–£120. We provide a free, no-obligation quote - bring your piece in or contact us with the dimensions.
How long does picture framing take?
Standard turnaround is 7–10 working days. Rush orders can be accommodated for an additional charge - please contact us to discuss your timeline.
Do you offer conservation-quality framing?
Yes. All our framing uses archival-quality, acid-free materials to museum conservation standards, protecting artwork from UV light, humidity, and acid degradation over the long term.
What types of artwork can you frame?
Framing original works and limited editions is what we love most. We work with urban art, screen prints, paintings on canvas and board, photography, textiles and mixed media pieces regularly, using shadow float mounting, window mounting, tray framing or acrylic box framing depending on what suits the work. No two jobs are the same, which suits us perfectly. Come in with your piece and we'll take it from there.
What glass options do you offer?
We offer standard float glass, UV-protective glass, anti-reflective glass, and museum-grade anti-reflective UV glass for high-value works. We're happy to advise on the best option for your piece.
Is your framing sustainable?
Yes. We use sustainably sourced moulding and archival, acid-free materials throughout. Conservation-quality framing is better for the long term anyway. Materials that won't degrade mean your artwork stays protected without needing to be reframed.
Do you stretch canvases?
Yes. We stretch canvases to order and also offer tray framing for stretched canvases once complete.
What framing styles do you offer?
We offer shadow float mounting, window mounting, Perspex box framing, and tray framing - ranging from traditional wooden frames to contemporary neon Perspex options.
Where are you located?
BSMT Gallery is at 529 Kingsland Road, Dalston, East London, E8 4AR - a short walk from Dalston Kingsland and Dalston Junction Overground stations.
Do you offer framing and shipping for international collectors?
Yes. We work with collectors and buyers worldwide, framing artwork here at BSMT and arranging professional art shipping to international destinations. All framing uses archival, conservation-quality materials suitable for transit, and we can advise on the most appropriate framing method for the work and its destination. Get in touch with details of your piece and we'll put together a quote.
