LPVDA

Swiss artist Antoine Guignard, known as LPVDA, transforms wooden surfaces into expressive portraits. A former graffiti artist, he discovered the technique while sanding his chalet, removing darker layers to reveal the lighter wood beneath. Working within the natural beige, brown, and sepia tones of the material, he creates monochrome chiaroscuro portraits. His process, which he calls “street-poncing,” removes rather than adds material, echoing techniques such as Vhils’ scratching and reverse graffiti.
